Subject: The National Science Council is soliciting grant proposals for the "Special Research Project (Large-Scale)" in 2026. Applications will be accepted from today until January 4, 2026 (online applications will be accepted by the deadline for internal applications).

Instructions:
1. Applications will be processed in accordance with the NSTC Subsidized Research Project Operation Guidelines. Applicant institutions and project leaders must carefully review all regulations beforehand.

2. The implementation period for this research project will begin on August 1, 2026.

3. Applicant institutions should thoroughly review the qualifications of project leaders and confirm their eligibility in the remarks column of the application roster for each case. Only those who meet the requirements may submit their applications, along with a written commitment to the project leader's eligibility, after verification and stamping by relevant personnel, to the National Science Council.

4. Applications for the 2026 research project will be submitted entirely online. All forms and documents must be prepared on the NSTC website (https://www.nstc.gov.tw) under the "Academic Research and Development Service Network." The following points should be noted:

(a) In accordance with Point 6 of the NSTC Subsidized Research Project Operation Guidelines, research projects may apply for various subsidies based on actual needs. Regarding research personnel costs, the specific content, nature, projects, and scope of each type (level) of personnel within the project should be clearly stated. Furthermore, in conjunction with the Association's efforts to increase funding for doctoral students participating in the project, if there is a need to hire doctoral students as part-time personnel, please include this additional funding to facilitate review and approval.

(II) For research projects (applications) involving human trials, collection of human samples, or other related experiments or experiments as stipulated in Item 11, Section 4, Subsection 1 of the NSTC-funded Special Research Project Operation Guidelines, all research content and methods must be submitted to the relevant review committee, board, or relevant unit for review and approval.
