Subject: NSTC has submitted the "Application and Project/Research Description for the 2026 General Thematic Research Project of the Disaster Prevention Technology Division" to the Department of Natural Sciences and Sustainability Research and Development. Please review.
Instructions:
1. The Department of Disaster Prevention Technology (hereinafter referred to as the Department of Disaster Prevention) of the Department of Natural Sciences and Sustainability Research and Development is developing research topics for the 2026 General Thematic Research Project in accordance with global trends in disaster prevention and mitigation and government policies.
2. This research project falls under the NSTC General Thematic Research Project program. Applicants wishing to apply for a General Thematic Research Project under the Department of Disaster Prevention should carefully review the application and project/research description attached to this letter and submit their applications according to the procedures and schedule announced by the National Science Council.
3. To implement the spirit of Transdisciplinary Research (TDR) and enhance the appropriateness of research related to Indigenous peoples, if the research content involves Indigenous land or tribes and their surrounding land within a certain range, please plan related matters in the project proposal in accordance with the principles described in Article 21, Paragraph 1 of the Indigenous Peoples Basic Law.

The application and project/research description are also published in the announcements section of the Natural Sciences and Sustainable Research Development Division of the National Science Council (https://www.nstc.gov.tw/nat/ch). Interested applicants are advised to check the website for information.
