Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology hosted the International Arts and Culture Festival: Ambassador Tessie Eria Lambourne was invited to participate in the world cultural exchange.

The 2019 International Arts and Culture Festival of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology was held recently, with nearly 300 participating students from Russia, Austria, Poland, Colombia, Egypt, France, South Korea, Germany, Indonesia, Peru, India, Czech Republic, Kiribati, Mongolia, El Salvador, Vietnam, Malaysia, Iraq, Germany, Thailand, Switzerland, Japan, the Philippines and the Mainland China.

The event specially invited Ambassador Tessie Eria Lambourne and Professor Pankaj M. Koinkar from the Department of Optical Science, the University of Tokushima—a Japanese sister school of STUST. They came together to participate in the event and interact with students personally, becoming the spotlight of this event. The event kicked off with enthusiasm of the performance of students from the Department of Pop Music Industry, who brought a lot of songs in different languages. In addition, there are 8 groups of international students participating in the stage performances, showing the unique style of each country. The performances include traditional dances and song singing from the Philippines, the tradition Poco-Poco Dance and some special instrumental performances from Indonesia, Indian dance performances, and the characteristic battle dance and power dance of Kiribat. There was also the international performance of Peruvian, Mongolian, and Russian students singing with guitar—a rare global cooperation in the international art and culture festival. Ambassador Tessie Eria Lambourne also performed on stage during the performances of Indonesia and Kiribati. After the performance, she said that she was very happy to participate in this event and was proud of the performance of the students from Kiribati. These foreign students also showed their talents and fully introduced their cultural intentions to Taiwan, which amazed all the guests and teachers and students, winning their great applauses.

There are 8 booths at the International Arts and Culture Festival, belonging to 8 different countries: China, Vietnam, the Philippines, Kiribati, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Japan. The students thoughtfully introduced the decoration, display accessories, and special games that represent the cultural relics of various countries. Taiwanese students participating in this activity had more opportunities for cultural exchanges with foreign students. Through multicultural integration, whether it was a cultural experience sharing or a foreign cultural show, the students participating in the event said that it was a very special opportunity to appreciate the unique customs and performances of different countries without going abroad.
