The Institute of Engineering Education Taiwan (IEET) held a teaching excellence award every two years. It was recently presented at the Evergreen Maritime Museum. The Institute of Engineering Education Taiwan is a non-profit organization whose main purpose is to research, promote engineering and technology education, cultivate professional talents, serve the society, and promote national economic development. In order to improve the quality of domestic teaching and continue to promote the teaching and evaluation of student learning outcomes, IEET has been offering Teaching Excellence Awards since 2015 to encourage teachers with proven academic excellence. Since 2015, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology has been recognized by the Institute continuously. It is the only university in Taiwan that has won the IEET Teaching Excellence Award for three consecutive years. In 2015, Prof. Zhao-Tun Yu of Department of the Electronic Engineering was awarded; in 2016, Prof. Chong-Guang Chen of the Department of Visual Communication Design won this honor. In 2019, the honor was given to Associate Professor Bo-Ming Li of the Department of Electronic Engineering and Associate Professor Yu-Chun Du of the Department of Electrical Engineering.

The award-winning Associate Professor Yu-Chun Du also won the 2017 Super Teacher National College Special Award and the Teaching Award of 2018 Chinese Industrial Vocational Education Society Golden Award. Associate Professor Bo-Ming Li was the winner of the national college group in the 2018 Super Teacher Award. This time he won the IEET Teaching Excellence Award.
