Department of Electronic Engineering, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, received a gift from Luxgen Automobile to help promote the teaching of automobile networking

Luxgen Automobile, since its first donation of vehicles to the departments of domestic vehicle engineering and auto repair in 2012, has become an important boost for teaching aids in the automotive related departments in Taiwan. Recently, General Manager Wen-Rong Tsai of Luxgen Automobile once again awarded the sponsored car to the recipient school. The Department of Electronic Engineering, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology has become the only non-vehicle related department to receive a car for teaching from Luxgen, which also served to be the biggest highlight of the "Young Student Auto Dream" activity.

In response to the rapid development of automotive artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), the models that Luxgen sponsored included the most advanced APA (Active Park Assist) and AR View+ (Road AR Imaging System), and other advanced and forward-looking equipment. These are tailor-made for Taiwan's special driving environment, as well as teaching materials with the most teaching effect.

In August 2015, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology established the Automobile Electronic Research Center, which is a cross-campus and field research team composed of teachers from different universities. It also established the first domestic and international CAN Bus network. The experimental environment of the road provides the application of teachers and students in the in-vehicle network and the research on the Internet. The relevant experimental environment and key component development have been carried out using the domestic Luxgen Automobile vehicle and CAN bus controller and Transceiver CAN bus conveyor. Since its inception, the center has been responsible for a number of cooperation projects with the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Economic Affairs, ICI, and many automotive electronics manufacturers. 2018 saw the Industrial Innovation Research and Development Project by the Ministry of Education. The center received 6 million annual subsidies from the Ministry of Education for the application of AI technology in vehicle information. With its combination of advanced driver assist system and On-Board Diagnostics II, the Technology Integration and Analysis Technology Alliance has received the second three-year grant from the Small Alliance Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology.

With the new Luxgen new car to be introduced into the popular ADAS advanced auxiliary safety technology, such as ACC and AEB, the students of South University of Science and Technology can benefit directly from the sponsorship plan with Luxgen’s new generation models equipped with ADAS. The technology is equipped to keep pace with the times, making the students able to learn knowledge from the solid basic principles and acquire the opportunity to step into the forward-looking vehicle field, such as the Internet of Vehicles, with the most advanced vehicle platform. It also enable schools to strengthen their technical fields related to forward-looking technology and create special courses to train more automotive professionals.
