Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology tailors the fishing village experience activities "Dining in the Fish Farm"

Shifen Community entrepreneurial team "Shared Fishing Town,” which is supported by the team of the Local Creative Development Center of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology and Taijiang National Park, tailored the "Dining in the Fish Farm" activity for visitors to experience the fishing village life. The activity has begun the registration to allow visitors to join it and truly understand the meaning of the fishing village life.

The Qiqu District of Tainan City is a simple living area with a focus on fisheries. It has always been known as the hometown of milkfish. This time the team of the Local Creative Development Center of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology and the Taijiang National Park cooperated with “STUST Project on Model Community Ecotourism and Industrial Marketing in Qiqu District at Taiwan National Park” in holding the "Dining in the Fish Farm" activity. In order to help more people and tourists have an in-depth understanding of Qiqu District, which is full of the atmosphere of fishing villages.

The Local Creative Development Center of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology organized the students of the Department of Visual Communication Design. Based on the characteristics of Qiqu District, the team brought forth “What is DIY Tablecloth?” and “Milkfish Model Teaching Tools Production” activities, which were specially designed to provide the public and the passengers with artistic experience and the production of the eye-catching model teaching aids. At the same time, through the design of the experience course contents of the local team "Shared Fishing Town," the participants entered the Jiangong National Small Culture Corridor and came to know the breeding fishery of Qiqu District. On one hand, it allowed the participants to gain knowledge about fish; on the other, the participants could also enjoy showing their creativity, making a piece of their own unique placemat. At dusk, they could row a boat in the fishing rod, enjoy the sunset of Qiqu District, taste the fishery dinner prepared by the local seafood, and draw a beautiful ending for this experience.

Yi-Fu Chen, Director of the Local Creative Development Center, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, said that with the three girls who started their business in Qiqu District, the idea of planning the "Dinning in the Fish Farm" became a combination of casual fish education and a combination of arts in Qiqu. Local Artist Ming-Chong Yang (creator of the "Angel of Glory" displayed in Chimei Museum) provided an experience base on his “Flying Bird in the Sky.” Through a well-designed experience of Qiqu, the public can understand the district and the fishing village life there, creating the "Dinning in the Fish Farm” in the fishing village eco-tourism.
