USR plan of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology and Shennong Street residents jointly planned the Year of the Mouse Lantern Show: More than one hundred students in self-study courses participated in the cultural education of the local community.

Following the lantern shows in the Year of the Dog and the Year of the Pig, which brought about 60,000 visitors, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology and Tainan City Cultural Association jointly organized another lantern show to upgrade the Shennong Street Lantern Festival to a national lantern show and to make it one of the five major lantern exhibitions in Tainan recommended by the government in the year of the Pig. Under these circumstances, the two parties once again co-organized the 2020 Lantern Festival in Shennong Street in the Year of the Rat. Encouraged by the strong festival atmosphere in the previous two years, the residents of Shennong Street also increased from 11 households in the year of the dog and 37 in the year of the pig to 51 households that have signed up to participate in the year of the Rat. The responses have been overwhelming. Thanks to the enthusiastic participation of surrounding residents, the venue of the Lantern Festival will be extended to the section of the Temple of Medicine God.

The program team of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology helped bring back the cultural characteristics of Shennong Street as the port of Gojo Port in the past. The Shennong Street Lantern Show has been focused, from the year of the dog, on the old house characteristics of Shennong Street, Beisegang (Nansegang), the zodiac, and the residents of the year. There are four directions to the design of painted lanterns, and the Lantern Festival is certainly no exception. In order to bolster the design of lanterns on the streets, alleys, channels, and corners of Shennong Street, a total of 133 students participated in the self-study course of lantern painting and the activities of the Lantern Festival. The planning team also planned three activities for students to get to know Shennong Street and for them and the residents to meet each other. They discussed the theme, quantity, style, and hanging method of "My Home Lantern" together. The students and the residents created a group for the follow-ups as well as a platform for communication and discussion to work together for the Year of the Rat.

In addition to the main Shennong Street section, the area from Shennong Street to Kangle Street can be extended to the important suburban business culture areas of Nanhe Port to the Guanting Pavilion, Fengshen Temple, and Shiluo Temple. Shiluo Temple also participated in the Shennong Street Lantern Exhibition in the Year of the Rat. Under the main theme of the second phase of the USR propram to provide children with cultural education and local culture, the lanterns will be painted by the children of Hongwaji Elementary School in Guiren and Wu Guoyu Art Class. In addition, the residents of Shennong Street kept hanging the lanterns in the years 2012 to 2014. The atmosphere of the old street lantern festival is a common memory for everyone. Therefore, the team and the Tainan Cultural Association decided to find the lantern in the year from the warehouse and it will be hung from the harbor site. This is to market and educate people about the cultural characteristics of the port street space and trade economy of Gojo Port, so that everyone knows that the channels are located in the lane behind Shennong Street. In response to the expansion of the scope of the lantern show, the planning team will also raise funds on the fundraising platform and look forward to the successful completion of the light show, a strong culture of suburban businessmen and increased international exposure.
