"Come and Do the Farming Together II"—Innovative Agricultural Activities in Rural Areas by Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology launched its "Rainfall Comes to Seed Rice" activity.

Following the acclaim of "Come and Do the Farming Together I" last year, the student entrepreneurship team of "Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology cooperated with Dintsong Community District Development Association of Houbi District, Tainan City, once again cooperated to launch "Come and Do the Farming Together II—from Transplanting to Harvesting." The first activity recently started, continuing the design of the previous session, combined with solar terms. Based on the important correlation between solar terms and agricultural busyness, the plan combined the unique rice cakes in Shingang and Ganggang with the white rice culture in Houbi District, took stock of the humanities and real estate resources in the field, and integrated the resources through systematic planning and innovative marketing methods to attract the urban population. It also built connections between local cultural and local sales of real estate in rural industries, creating an economy with community elders.

"There is no rule for farming; everything relies on solar terms." Since ancient times, traditional agricultures and the 24 solar terms have been inseparably linked. The three events in this period are thus named. The participating students adopted a unit of land for NT $ 3,000. In addition to experiencing the three-stage activities of rice transplanting, field maintaining, and crop harvesting, they could also learn some innovative rice dishes by their own. Moreover, they could take back 6 kilograms of high-quality Tainan No. 16 white rice. The event allowed a wide range of ages, from 5-year-old children to 75-year-old elders, along with nearly 50 students coming to participate in the event. Zhen-Hui Guo, Director of the Tainan City Tourism Bureau, especially attended the ceremony to encourage the team. Tai-Zhi Li, Chairman of the Tainan Friendship Cultural Exchange Foundation, adopted 4 units. On the day of the event, he also brought his children to the field to experience the farming activity. Zhen-Shiang Weng, Chief Officer of Houbi District, even rushed to the field without even having to change his clothes.

The award-winning answer design allowed everyone to understand the knowledge of rice transplanting and the relationship between solar terms and farming activities. As the students unanimously stated, "this class is fun and really long." At the same time, Guo-Rui Shiao, Chairman of the Community Development Association, was also invited to participate the community farming elders to guide the rice transplanting. At the same time, she also hopes to foster young people through the promotion of field innovation activities. Students have implemented the concept and practice of local student creation and fulfilled the university's social responsibility. For the student team of “Creating Agricultural Studio,” in addition to the guidance of the teacher, the founding seniors of the team led the younger brothers and sisters to enter the community together. It is very important to continue the team spirit and experience through inheritance in its valuable and practical learning mode. Thanks to Higher Education Sprout Program by Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology and the USR Promotion Center for their support to the team, the studio will continue to work with the community in the future to create more possibilities and work for the community to create students.
