STUST competitive cheerleading team participated in the 2020 National Cheerleading Championship, winning first place and second place in the single-bottom technique category (double group) of college mixed group.

The STUST competitive cheerleading team recently participated in the 2020 National Cheerleading Championship, organized by the Taiwan Competitive Cheerleading Association of the Republic of China, at the Taipei City University Tianmu Campus Gymnasium. They won first place and second place in the single-base technique category (double group) of college mixed group, 6th place in the single-base technique category of mixed group. Moreover, the alumni team won third place in the mixed group of grand open groups and fourth place in the overturning technique category of open mixed group, showing excellent performances.

a total of 592 teams from 193 colleges and universities, with more than 2,500 players, participated in the 2020 National Cheerleading Championship. The two-day schedule was tight and the competition was fierce. In response to the pandemic situation, the organizer implemented a pandemic prevention system that required team staff and players to wear facemasks and take their body temperatures. As a result, the pandemic prevention work and the competition could held in a balanced manner and that all the participants could still show their training results and participate enthusiastically in the event despite of the pandemic.

Yi-Fang Ke, who participated in the single-base technique category (double group) of college mixed group and the single-base technique category of college mixed group, is now a senior female member of the team. She was very pleased that she still had such a chance to join the competition. She also show gratitude to everyone around her and supports her over these days of practice.

Hsi Yeh, whose group of upper-level female students participated in the single-base technique category (double group) of the mixed group, said that if one does not dare trying to challenge anything, there would not be any chance he or she could break through your life? The single-based technique category required a lot of physical strength, skills and courage for the contestants, especially the double group, which required the best demonstration of the tacit understanding and skills of the two groups. The good results this time drew from their strength that had accumulated from their hard practice over the past weeks.

In addition, Guo-Shiang Yeh, who won fourth place in the overturning technique category of the mixed group, said that he gained a lot of experience in the competition and came to understand where he needs to be more refined. He hopes that every competition in the future can challenge higher-level skills. Through participating in many competitions, younger team members can be more confident and comfortable with the professional and technical movements of the cheerleading team. The performance of this competition was brilliant and worth a lot of praise.

In addition, this year, the Pharaoh Cheerleading Team, which is composed of many alumni members who graduated from STUST, won third place in the mixed group of grand open groups.
