This time, the third-placed work "Gu Fu"—a set of environment-friendly of bags for fruit, is based on the ecological structure of pupa protecting caterpillars. It uses Antimicrobial Corning®Gorilla®Glass magenta small greenhouse glass as the main material of its coating material. After the special coating process, the glass can resist the wavelength of sunlight, reduce damage to the fruit, and improve their quality. It is designed with a translucent surface to facilitate farmers to observe the condition of the fruit. While avoiding pests and bird damage, it can also improve fruit color, prevent sunburn, and use the reusable characteristics of glass to achieve the goal of environmental protection and sustainable operation. It is an excellent work.

Assistant Professor Jin-Bo Shih of the Department of Electrical Engineering, STUST, Advisor of the award-winning team, said that STUST has always encouraged teachers to lead students to participate in various competitions at home and abroad. It is, hoped that students can have solid training while learning, develop their core problem-solving skills through interdisciplinary cooperation. This brought the team the opportunity to learn to examine problems from different perspectives, to give full play to their strengths of integrating interdisciplinary expertise, and to jointly formulate solutions and implement project management under compressed schedule. Meanwhile, it is hoped that STUST can thereby demonstrate the characteristics of the technical and vocational education profession and cultivate more interdisciplinary elites with professional abilities, humanistic care, and great teamwork.
