Last year, the USR project team of STUST launched a small art holiday tour, taking a closer look at the beauty of installation art in the Yanshui historical district, which was well received. This year, it continued to organize the block exhibits especially for Yuezhimei Art Museum, planning to start from the historical alleys and visit them. After revitalizing the idle space, the Chitu Factory finally returned to Yuezhimei Art Museum to learn how to make lanterns for the Year of the Rabbit Alley Lantern Exhibition. At the beginning of this activity, Ms. Chi-han Li, the project executive of Yuezhimei Art Museum, led the students into Liancheng Lane and Yiyin Lane, which are full of historical and cultural flavors of Yanshui. They came to understand those works of art created in these historical alleys, especially their symbolism and the beauty of craftsmanship to be presented.

Chitu Factory was formerly the branch office of Taiwan Commercial and Industrial Bank. Yuyu Art Studio and Ren-zhi Huang Architects worked in cooperation to revitalize and rebuild the main body of the old building. First, the structure of the building was reinforced and the damaged parts were repaired, so that the original appearance of the old Japanese house wooden components could be preserved. The renovation team also tried to make use of natural light and lighting interactively, employing art curating to make the space of the old house rich and interesting. In addition, in order to operate sustainably, the team planned Chitu Factory into a composite space. Along with their provision of light food that tourists need when visiting, Chitu Factory has become a unique stronghold in the style of the old Yanshui District. The last stop was Yuezhimei Art Museum. Since the theme of the 2023 Yuejin Port Light Festival was "We Connect! Meet with Yanshui," so Yuezhimei Art Museum instructed the students how to use the wide array of imagery in the alleys to draw the "we" pattern creatively and how to use colored pens to complete the "we" lamp dragon with personal style.

The team designed a particular itinerary greatly different from traditional ones, worked together with local teams to promote the old house space, and let the students participate in the production of the lantern exhibition in 2023. With new experience, STUST was able to continue for the second yea and fulfill the commitment of STUST to the creative innovation of Yanshui
