The 2019 Exploring Taiwan 120h Taiwan in My Eyes—Sustainable Strategy Competition: the WALL-E team of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology won third place《2019/3/15》

The WALL-E team of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology recently participated in the 2019 Exploring Taiwan 120h Taiwan in My Eyes—Sustainable Strategy Competition, organized by the Chong Ding Education Foundation and the Taiwan Enterprise Sustainability Training Center in conjunction with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The team won third place, standing out of 22 teams from 11 universities all over the country and winning a prize money of NT$ 30,000.

The 2019 Exploring Taiwan 120h Taiwan in My Eyes—Sustainable Strategy Competition was divided into two parts: field exploration and results presentation. The field exploration required participating teams to explore five high-profile companies and institutions, including Chong Ding Engineering Co., Ltd., Licheng Technology Co., Ltd., Miaoli County BOT waste incineration plant—Green Dream Factory—jointly developed by Miaoli Country Government and Kung Ding Company, the Central Science Park of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the refinery of Kaohsiung, which is the largest petrochemical energy company in Taiwan. The teams had to study what efforts that the five different types of industries have made, spread the results through the social media of foreign students and researchers, let the world see Taiwan’s brilliant achievements in sustainable development and feel Taiwan’s international engineering, and closely observe the sustainability of semiconductor industry, ecological environment education, the development of science and technology innovation, and Taiwan's petrochemical industry transformation. Through observations, exchanges, discussions, and impressions from all aspects of life in Taiwan, they have practiced sharing with the world partners, moving towards a sustainable development for Taiwan.

WALL-E team of of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology was composed of Ting-Si Chen from the College of Business Administration, Manisha Narpur from India, Anh Tuan Nguyen from Vietnam, and Renzo Del Giudice Lopez from Peru, who is studying in the doctoral program of Business Administration. During the competition, the team conducted a five-day field visit and planning and preparation of more than one month, combining the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with corporate social responsibility, with excellent results reports, briefings, and films in its complete presentation. The team showed brilliant performances in their cross-bordered communication and interaction, global exchange of international exchanges to the interaction, and feedback with various visitors.

The prize-winning WALL-E team of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology said that the prize was a gift from Zhong Ding Group Foundation as an opportunity to understand the importance of sustainable development and corporate social responsibility. They also showed their gratitude to the support of the College of Business Administration, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology. They believe that every great success comes from every effort people make to protect the sustainable development of the earth.
