STUST recently exhibited its research and development results at the 2022 Taiwan Medical Science and Technology Exhibition, which was officially launched in Hall 1 of Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center. The exhibition was sponsored by the National Biotechnology and Medical Industry Promotion Association, the Biotechnology and Medical Science and Technology Policy Research Center and other units. It gathered top domestic enterprises in the fields of medical care, electronic information and communication, biotechnology, and agricultural biotechnology to fully present new medical technologies, new applications, and new trends. In addition to the 4-day physical exhibition, there was also an online joint exhibition this year, with the theme focused on the three major health fields of smart medicine, precision health, and health for all ages. It was hoped that Taiwan's medical products could be promoted internationally through the exhibition.

The exhibition was divided into 7 thematic areas with more than 2,000 booths, including characteristic medical care, smart health technology and preventive medicine, ageless health, agricultural biotechnology and food safety and health, sports health, precision testing, new biotech drugs and cell therapy, smart hospital, medical equipment and supply chain, and other thematic areas. STUST belonged to the thematic area of smart health technology and preventive medicine. The exhibited works focused on medical metaverse and smart medical care and assistive technology, such as remote care, preventive medicine, fall warning, home rehabilitation assistance, etc. In the exhibition area on the 1st floor (K602, Area K), a total of 12 works were planned in 3 major experience areas, so that visitors could actually experience the cross-domain integration application of meta-medicine meta-universe. Among them, the representative work—AR smart glasses auxiliary prosthetics and home appliance control system—had been awarded 2022 Future Technology Award and 2021 Ministry of Science and Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Incentive Program (FiTi) Entrepreneurial Excellence Award. It was the first system that uses AI deep learning object detection technology to deduce the position of the eye gaze point in the first-person perspective screen, controlling the AI prosthetic arm to switch the corresponding gestures and assisting upper limb amputee users to complete hand functions with appropriate hand movements. It introduces the AR smart glasses of Zuozhen Co., Ltd., combined with AR smart glasses long-term care patrol and remote consultation system and through the real-time images of the first perspective of smart glasses to conduct remote consultation related disease inquiries and medical treatment, along with doctor's advice to realize long-term care ward rounds and telemedicine. The "AI millimeter wave bedside physiological signal and time-of-flight distance measurement and fall sensing system" developed in cooperation with Shiongshin Technology Co., Ltd., through millimeter-wave radar and time-of-flight measurement. The combination of the distance sensor and the nursing platform of the nursing station was used to realize the life signal and fall detection of the residents of the hospital or nursing institution, so that the nursing staff can know the breathing and heartbeat values of the residents in the hospital bed through the nursing platform; if there is a fall, the incident will be notified immediately as the world's unique research and development of the Kinetic Energy health technology far exceeds the domestic and international standards. It can enjoy 90-98% high-quality far-infrared rays at room temperature, and is committed to promoting blood circulation and solving the high radiation of fatigue operated by the development of zero-radiation and far-infrared healthy energy products.
