STUST held a ceremony to celebrate the 53rd anniversary of its founding on 10th of December. President Tsai Ing-wen and Vice President Lai Ching-de sent STUST congratulatory messages. Chairman Hsin-hsiong Chang and President Deng-maw Lu led the faculty and students of the school and invited Wen-hui Wu from Sanlian Wu Taiwan Historical Materials Foundation, Chairman Jin-fa Huang of STUST Alumni Association, President Sabine Rein of Konstanz University of Applied Sciences, Chi-cheng Chen, Vice President of Chimei Medical Center, Professor Ming-shu Chao from the Department of Nursing Science, Donggang University, South Korea, and many honorable guests were invited to attend the meeting. In his speech, Chairman Hsin-hsiong Chang not only expressed his gratitude to the distinguished guests, but also reviewed the history of STUST—from its arduous founding to its vigorous development over the past 53 years—and looked forward to the future. In his speech, Chairman Chang cited the speeches of celebrities—such as Rafael Reif, President of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Carol Christ, President of the University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley), and Tim Cook, CEO of Apple Inc.—to encourage the teachers and students of the university. He maintained that teachers and students should abide by the school motto "Be Faithful, Righteous, and Honest." They should not seek their own interests, but instead should strive for the well-being of all teachers and students. All the members of the university should practice the values of STUST.

Its development in Various technical fields can be recognized by the industry, such as international students in key industrial fields, semiconductors, green energy negative carbon emissions, AI artificial intelligence, creative marketing, digital art, communication media, etc. STUST has won a number of domestic and foreign competition awards, such as the 2022 American Outstanding Industrial Design Award 1 Bronze, the 111 National Defense Education Outstanding Contribution Award, the 111 National College Games 2 Gold, 1 Silver and 2 Bronze, the German Red Dot Brand and Communication Design The award, which further demonstrates the research and development and creative strength of the teachers and students at STUST, has been recognized by the outside world.

In his speech, President Deng-maw Lu, in addition to his gratitude for the distinguished guests, listed the important construction and school performance of STUST over the years, and explained the various educational affairs, academic reforms and international deepening work that are currently being promoted to create a more lively and diverse learning environment for teachers and students at STUST. Indeed, the school has laid the foundation for future development. As President Lu pointed out, due to the decline of birth rate these years, changes in cross-strait politics, and the pandemic situation, the enrollment of universities is generally affected. However, with the concerted efforts of all staff, the number of students in Southern Taiwan still remains at 16,106 students, and the graduates are the favorites of enterprises. In addition, President Lu introduced the school's various software and hardware constructions, creating a beautiful campus teaching landscape, promoting teaching innovation and technological research and development, advocating sports, and promoting music, art and cultural activities and other major constructions and measures, including the renovation of 9 old buildings, planting various beautiful tree species, renovating 128 modern ordinary classrooms, rebuilding a student-centered community building, Heaven and Earth Square and Waterside Square, Art Center (including the arts and science hall, ancient machinery Museum, 3D Digital Gallery, School History Museum and Jixian Hall), Shuxiangting Park, tracks and field, the largest rainy day stadium in the country, the concert hall in Building N, etc. All of these have been integrated into the campus space, making it a comfortable central activity field and constructing a complete high-quality general education environment for students. It has effectively improved the quality of campus learning and after-school life for teachers and students, making teachers and students love STUST more and identify with it.
