The 48th National Skills Competition and the 45th International Skills Competition National Hand Selection Competition," sponsored by the Ministry of Labor, were respectively held in Labor Academy, Overseas Chinese University, and Jiayang Senior High School. The competitions were held simultaneously. The contestants were the top 5 winners in each category selected in the North Central South Division in late April this year, with 640 winners in total, together with the 19 winners from national secondary school student skill competition and the 129 top 3 players from previous national skill competitions. There were a total of 788 players in the competition.

They will participate in the national finals selection in October and strive to represent Taiwan in the biennial International Skills Competition next year in Russia, which is claimed to be the largest in the world and is known as the Olympic Skills Competition.

After winning the competition, Hong won first prize and the highest honor in the Dim Sum Competition Category and a prize money of $NT 80,000. Kang won the silver medal in the category and a prize money of $NT 60,000, and Tang Won fourth place in the bread making category.
