The 3rd Southern Taiwan Lion’s Roar Pop Music Contest shows it on the road!

The 3rd Southern Taiwan Lion’s Roar Pop Music Contest, sponsored by Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology and co-organized by the Tainan Cultural and Creative Industry Park, has been opened for registration! All domestic high school students can register and upload recording files to the official facebook before April 24.

The 3rd Southern Taiwan Lion’s Roar Pop Music Contest has come to its third year. The event was carefully planned by the Department of Pop Music, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology. Professional faculty and students jointly work on the design and the final field equipment behind the scenes. This year, the competition will be expanded. In addition to the traditional "Band Lion King" competition, the new "Voice Lion King" competition has been added. The dual project will create more opportunities for fresh musicians with different expertise in the national high school to perform on the stage and the opportunities to showcase their musical talents.

In addition, “Golden Song Mentor Group” is also arranged this year, with masters of the pop music industry to be the judges, including Golden Melody Awards winner Meng-Hui Wu, Ji-Min Tsu, Da-Jun Huang, and Shi-An Chang of "Chang San and Li Si." More mentors will be announced in the official facebook of the contest. In addition to providing a more professional and comprehensive commentary, they will surely attract a large number of people to the contest.

【The Second Southern Taiwan Lion’s Roar Pop Music Contest】

In recent years, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology has vigorously promoted and supported arts and literary activities and competitions. Therefore, the prize money of this contest has reached a record high, with a total prize money of NT$ 221,000. In addition to the top three prizes, the two contests also have prize money and a number of awards for high-end finalists. It is expected to stimulate the participation of students with musical talents in high school and promote the progressive motivation of young musicians in Taiwan.

"I am very pleased to see the diverse learning achievements of students at Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, not only to show their talents but also to give back to the society and education," said President Deng-Maw Lu of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology. He expressed that he is quite looking forward to the Southern Taiwan Lion’s Roar Pop Music Contest this year. He also hopes that students will be more independent and creative in the cultivation of music, art, culture and sports. The 3rd Southern Taiwan Lion’s Roar Pop Music Contest has been opened for registration for high school students nationwide. The deadline for registration is April 24. The final concert will last for 2 days, May 18-19, held in Tainan Cultural and Creative Industry Park.
