The event was also the first session held by the USR Promotion Center, the Ministry of Education, to encourage university USR teams to work on the Special Interest Group/Special Issue Group (SIG) series. The promotion of the SIG activities is mainly to create opportunities for teams with common concerns on social care issues to promote exchange of experience, encourage further cooperation, and thus create guidelines for establishing cross-university communities to realize the hope that various universities can integrate and promote the effectiveness of university social responsibility practice. Under this concept, the event hoped that the SIG activities, jointly participated by the middle-class officials and representatives of the relevant fields, could enable the teams caring for senior citizens to have the opportunity to exchange their visions and practical experiences. This sharing session attracted from all over Taiwan all the partners who are interested in "Young and Elderly Share Creation and Be Friendly to the Elderly." Deng-Maw Lu, President of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, said that aging is an inevitable trend and that it is important to make the elderly people live well and construct a cross-generational learning interaction model of "designing with the elderly." The linkage model of Young and Elderly Co-Creation is also a model for exchanges between generations. It is expected that "Young and Elderly Share Creation and Be Friendly to the Elderly” can make the elders become more and more energetic in the process of participating in the community development. This will not only change the role of the elderly as weak people to be taken care of, but also reduce the burden of senior care for young and middle-aged people. Consequently, this will create a city that is friendly to the elderly people.
