In this innovation and entrepreneurship competition, Associate Professor Wan-Rong Chang of the Department of Electronic Engineering, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, directed students Wen-De Chen, Hong-Wen Chen, Jia-Chi Chang, and Bo-Heng Wen in creating their work "Go to Guide" to win the Championship of "Kinmen Industry Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. This feature work was based on the solution to the safety of the visually impaired people and the development of visually impaired tourism in Kinmen County. The system architecture includes "smart sunglasses," a "smart identifier" that can be worn on the waist, and a "cloud information platform" that can be controlled by the customer service center. This system can solve the two big problems that the visually impaired people often encounter: first, suspended obstacles (such as road trees, signboards, etc.) or ground construction roadblocks (such as construction triangle cones) when they are walking outside, which may cause collision and injury to suspended obstacles; second, ground construction that leads to disorientation caused by roadblocks. In addition, the introduction of Kinmen tourism industry into the system will promote the visually impaired people's demand for Jinmen tourism, making Jinmen a warm city with "internal care and external tourism."

Special thanks should be given to the team advisor Prof. Kun Ouyang from the Department of Creative Product Design for his efforts in packaging and publicity, which gave full play to the AI technology of the Department of Electronic Engineering and the designing capabilities of the Department of Creative Product Design. It also developed a smart-glasses system for the visually impaired for the tourism development of Kinmen, providing the visually impaired with a better sightseeing experience and walking safety. In the future, it will lead students to more interdisciplinary learning opportunities and develop more related artificial intelligence care aids to benefit the disadvantaged groups.
