The athletic cheerleaders of STUST recently participated in the 110 Academic Year Cheerleaders Championship of the Republic of China for Colleges and Universities, held by the Sports Federation of Colleges and Universities of the Republic of China in Banshu Gymnasium, New Taipei City. They won the fourth place in the general male and female mixed team group, and the general male and female team group. The fourth place in the mixed 4-member group and the fourth place in the general female 4-5-member group, win glory for the school!

A total of 66 teams participated in this competition. The competition included competitive cheerleading teams and dance cheerleading teams. Among them, there were seven competitive cheerleading teams. STUST signed up for three of them. In the general female 4-5-member group, the athletic cheerleaders of STUST showed the confidence, optimism, self-motivation and team spirit of the players, and all the participating groups achieved outstanding results.

Yu-rou Chen, Capital of the athletic cheerleaders of STUST, said that all the team members expressed their gratitude to the school for their support, the assistance of the extracurricular group of the Academic Affairs Office, and the guidance of their coach Yi-ting Huang. All these made them able to participate in the competition without any worries. In sports events, the general group (group B) is indeed difficult to operate, and various difficult situations and difficult conditions are challenged, but they still encourage the team members to uphold the original intention and enthusiasm of liking sports, the spirit of never giving up, and the correct attitude to promote the sport.

Deng-maw Lu, President of STUST, said that in the face of the current pandemic, we should pay more attention to our own health conditions and develop the good habit of exercising more and loving sports. The long-standing physical club hopes to lay the foundation and experience accumulation in the future through this competition, in the hope that the team members will not only fulfill their academic duties as students, but also improve their professional skills in sports as players. Their passions keep shining brightly, inheriting the fascinating sport of cheerleading and the spirit of never giving up.
