The College of Digital Design, STUST, showed its best strength, winning 2 Judges’ Selection Awards and 10 Selection Awards in the Three-Dimensional Modeling and Product Design Category, Digital Multimedia and Game Design Category of the 2022 Youth Design Festival, achieving fruitful results.

The Youth Design Festival is a great arena for the cultivation exhibition and creative competition of young students. It is an iconic joint exhibition for youth creative design in Taiwan. It gives young creatives the opportunity to show their self-marketing and their dreams through public activities, offering an opportunity for them to show evidence for their creative ability through winning awards. All the possible cooperation opportunities are to be the end of their learning process as well as the beginning of a professional career.
【Yi-shuan Lin, You-yi Huang, Min-can Wu, Kai-yun Zheng, and Ting-wei Guo from The Department of Creative Product Design of STUST won a Selection Award of 3D Modeling and Product Design Category with their work "Medical Washing, Barbering in the 2022 Youth Design Festival.】
The creative team of students from the Department of Innovative Product Design, STUST, won a total of five Selection Awards. Associate Professor Zhu-yu Cheng of the Department of Creative Product Design instructed students Xuan-yu Wu, Pin-jia Yan, Shi-ru Peng, and Yi-mei Sun on their work "Plant Sense," which won a Selection Award of Three-dimensional Modeling and Product Design Category. The work is a set of all-material shared tactile teaching aids for the blind. Based on the existing syllabus, new teaching aids are developed to help children learn science. On the other hand, Prof. Ya-lin Chen instructed students Yi-shuan Lin, You-yi Huang, Min-can Wu, Kai-yun Zheng, and Ting-wei Guo on their work "Medical Washing and Barbering Care Cart," which won a Selection Award of "3D Modeling and Product Design Category. The work provides efficient and comfortable bed head wash care services for patients who need help from others to complete their daily needs, and it offers a more professional and comfortable service environment with an integration of design and APP software. The work "Nothing is One," directed by Assistant Professor Yu-lin Zhu and created by Xue-yin Liao, Chian-lin Shiao, Cheng-yan Hu, Jun-jun Tsai, Ya-lun Yan, won a Selection Award of Three-dimensional Modeling and Product Design Category. The work combines Eastern literati philosophical thinking with Western pragmatism, with an integration of new Chinese-style composite furniture and contemporary thinking. Professor Kun Ouyang directed his students Pei-chi Liu, Shu-an Lin, Jia-ying Chou, Ci-shuan Lin in their work "Amblyopia Children's Grating Training App—EyeCam," which won a Selection Award of "Digital Multimedia and Game Design Category. The work uses AR to increase the fun and interactivity of training and enhance children's willingness to do training independently. Under the guidance of Associate Professor Yu-ming Chang, Tsong-yu Peng, Pei-ling Zhong, Shing-yi Guo, and Ling-li Lai won a Selection Award of Digital Multimedia and Game Design Category with their work "Utiu-Utiu.” The work is a new resident mother tongue auxiliary app specially designed for new resident families, which improves upon the native language courses and teaching program currently adopted by elementary schools.

The Youth Design Festival encourages young students to infuse their creativity with creativity. The Department of Multimedia and Entertainment Science and the Department of Creative Product Design, STUST, both won a Selection Award of Curatorial Practice and Exhibition Design Category. The work "Shadow and Invisible" by the Department of Creative Product Design is a design developing from the concept of water form, while the work "Super Tour" by the Department of Multimedia and Entertainment Science takes “multiple game routes” as its curatorial theme. Director Zhi-cheng Sun of the Department of Multimedia and Entertainment Science, together with Prof. Si-ying Wu and students Yi-chin Tang, Yi-rui Chen, and Chiao-lan Chen, successfully organized the exhibition by presenting the game country of "Super Tour" to gamers, attracting them to step into this paradise, roam in the world with games as their companions.

The Department of Pop Music Industry won two Selection Awards of Music Design Category. The winning work "suffocating" was directed by Prof. Mr. Hui-ru Chen and created by her students Yan-ling Chang, Li-wen Huang, Hao-chian Lai, Zhi-han Ke, Yu-shiang Du, and Kai-wen Yang. The work calls on the audience to feel the world with their own eyes and to feel the temperature of the people around them. The other award-winning work, "Black Exquisite," was directed by Prof. Tsen-fang Lin and created by her students Zhi-han Ke, Yu-rong Shue, Ya-lun Shie, Man-juan Shu, and Guan-yu Chen. This work is mainly based on the theme of criticizing the matter of "making excuses.” Through the interpretation of the protagonist's psychological situation, they finally resolve their own contradictions and escape from the confinement.
