Southern Taiwan Science Park starts its innovation of Moore's Law, accelerating on its
Innovation Super Highway

Southern Taiwan Science Park has stepped into the 20th year of its development and successfully created a prosperous industrial park that integrates sustainable ecology and artistic life in its innovation. In order to speed up the transformation and innovation of the park, this year, the administration puts forward two projects: "Innovative Orientation and Industrial Link," and “Problem-Solution Platform. On the 11th of August, The Education Center in the park held a press conference—“Southern Taiwan Science Park for 2 great decades: Moving on the Innovation Super Highway and Oriented Innovation X Golden Brains.” It includes a problem-solution service platform, 8 bright cooperation cases, the establishment of South Branch of the Taiwan Industrial Creativity Association, and the listing of the StarFab Accelerator—the core of Taiwan's cloud valley breeding, together with some investment funds, talent cultivation, breeding centers, international links, and other resources. All these are working together to create an "Innovation Super Highway" for the new innovative practices in South Taiwan, starting its innovation of Moore's Law and speeding its creative innovation to reach the international Market. Through the problem-solving and new process of creation, the rapid development of technology will come with market value, shaping innovation and entrepreneurship culture and atmosphere in the park.

Director Wei-Chen Lin of the Southern Taiwan Science Park Administration encouraged those who want to succeed, those who want to pursue the dream and those who want to make their dreams come true to come to the science park. With the resources coming up to the front, he believed that it will be a great stage for those who can have great performances, by which people will create a new miracle for our economy. Deputy Mayor Cheng-Yuan Chang of Tainan City showed his gratitude to Director Lin and President Chien Tai for their devoted leadership over the past two decades of the development of the science park, turning it not only into a city of technology but also a great place for living, where employees can settle their lives and families for their lifetimes. The science park carries forward not only the progress of the nation’s science and technology, but also the local economic prosperity. He also thanked the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Economy for their prospective projects that plan more than 300 billion NT$ dollars in Tainan to build a city with green energy. He believed that in the future the Southern Taiwan Science Park will be a dual core of technology with everlasting development.

Southern Taiwan Science Park and Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology jointly built Taiwan's first interdisciplinary open innovation problem-solution platform—"Golden Brains Problem-Solving Service Platform in Southern Taiwan Science Park." The manufacturers raise questions according to their demands and offer financial sponsorship to more than 100 experts and scholars of distinct domains. As a result, over the past seven months there have been 8 successful cooperation cases, with a total amount of 4.3 million NT$ dollars focusing on demand for green energy, biotechnology, precision machinery, the Internet of things and other fields. Guangtai Meta l and Wanrun Technology both participated in the cooperation. It showed that the science park will have more problems from businesses and industries, and more experts and scholars and engineers will join the problem-solving, thereby creating an atmosphere of innovation in the park.

With StarFab Accelerator officially stationed in the science park this year, the well-known enterprises in Taiwan, such as Wonderland Photoelectric, Dongtai Seiki, Jingwei Aircrafts, Wanrun Technology will focus their innovation needs on intelligent manufacturing, AR, unmanned aerial vehicles, intelligent robots, intelligent agriculture and many other fields. Gradually other enterprises will join the group, helping the quality development of new and large enterprises. They will work together on innovative solutions to strengthen the innovation and entrepreneurship in the science park. Taiwan Institute of Research and Innovation Association, TIEC, NCKU, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Southern Taiwan Science Park, Metal Center, and Tainan City Government will work together as a dedicated team to create innovative value for Innovation Super Highway, helping start-up companies focus on innovative product development and market development planning and rapidly gain access to the international market.

President Chien Tai of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology said that Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology has officially taken over the operation of the Innovation Center of the Southern Taiwan Science Park in the Ministry of Economy and Small and Medium Enterprises." With accelerator programs, it has found a base mechanism to jointly cultivate the international entrepreneurial potential of selected teams, helping them expand into the Southeast Asia market and ultimately achieve the purpose of national-level breeding center. "StarFab Accelerator" and "Taiwan Research and Innovation Association," both of which represent the industry's lead and investment funds, are invited to enter the Innovation Center, combined into the "Southern Taiwan Innovation Oriented Industrial Link Project" and ""Golden Brains Problem-Solving Service Platform in Southern Taiwan Science Park." The future will see a rapid construction of cross-border commercial market access platform and a better development of cross-border business market access platform.
