President Cheng-wen Wu of STUST said that in recent years, schools at all levels have been seriously affected by the declining birthrate. STUST still adheres to the spirit of "cultivating talents" established when the university was founded. This is also the philosophy of the founder, Mr. Wen-bing Hsin, which STUST takes as its foundation. Running the university according to standards allows students to contribute their talents and skills after leaving campus and make positive contributions to our society. This is STUST's persistence in education, and it is also our vision and goal. In response to social changes, many new issues have arisen. Schools must change, innovate, and transform into one that can enable young people to have a career of serving our society in the next 30 or 40 years and benefiting the country. Although Taiwan is considered a country with strong economic power, the government has begun to promote the national policy of "Healthy Taiwan" in order to solve the problem of uneven income development.

In addition to its original four colleges, STUST is expected to establish a "Smart Health College" and "Sustainability College" in the future. Together with two new colleges, there will also be a "Bachelor's Degree Program in Sports Technology." On the other hand, traditional colleges will continue to cultivate professional and technical talents. However, in the face of changes in the industrial structure, a large number of interdisciplinary talents are needed, instead of just cultivating talents in a single technology. In order to meet the needs of future industries, as a university of science and technology, STUST has the responsibility to cultivate talents for industry and society, continue to promote education to all levels of our society, and actively link itself with industry to achieve a win-win situation between academia and industry.
