Cheng-wen Wu, President of STUST, said that although GARMIN was founded in the United States and most of its marketing operations are abroad, most of its product manufacturing is in Taiwan. The company takes Taiwan as its starting point, hoping to become a high-quality Taiwanese manufacturer with a high degree of internationalization. It can be considered as "The Glory of Taiwan." As President Wu pointed out, STUST cultivates local personnel or professional and technical personnel who have made many contributions in various industries. He said that the process of talent training is not just to study in companies after completing school; rather, during the school period, high-quality companies and schools have already worked together to cultivate outstanding talents, allowing students to have the professional skills needed by companies when they step out of school. This way of joining hands with industry can define learning content with companies, allowing students to enter the workplace when they enter college from high school, so that students can adapt to the changing needs of the workplace. The school can also assist manufacturers to jointly complete talent cultivation. In the future, other departments of the school can work together to provide support and expand it to other aspects. Whether it is short-term training or studies for a degree, we can assist manufacturers. President Wu is thankful in joining hands with GARMIN this time, and he hopes to make more contributions to our society through the cooperation.
