National Kaohsiung Normal University is accepting applications for the "2025 Hakka Studies Outstanding Master's and Doctoral Dissertation Award" from August 18 to October 3, 2025. Graduate students are welcome to apply.

1. Purpose of the Award: This award is established to promote the development of Hakka academic research, assist the Hakka Affairs Council in deepening the development of Hakka knowledge, cultivate young Hakka students, and encourage doctoral and master's degree students to write dissertations related to Hakka studies.

2. Eligibility: Any Taiwanese citizen who has completed a doctoral or master's degree thesis on Hakka studies from a public or private university in Taiwan or abroad and has obtained a Ministry of Education-recognized graduate school between August 1, 2023, and July 31, 2025, is eligible to apply.

3. Submission Period: August 18 to October 3, 2025 (postmarked).

4. Number of Awardees and Amounts:
(1) Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation: Two Honorable Mentions, each receiving a cash prize of NT$100,000 and a certificate.
(2) Outstanding Master's Dissertation: Four Honorable Mentions, each receiving a cash prize of NT$50,000 and a certificate.
(3) The actual number of awards may be increased or reduced based on the Hakka Affairs Council's funding, corporate donations, and the review results.

V. Review Method:
(1) The Secretariat of the Society will conduct a qualification review, including application requirements, form completion, and information completeness.
(2) Those who meet the requirements will be reviewed by a review committee composed of scholars and experts.
(3) Review Criteria:
1. Evaluation of the data cited and research methods used in the paper (50%).
2. Evaluation of the academic value of the paper and its contribution to Hakka studies (50%).
(4) Applicants may not apply for the same paper repeatedly.

VI. Application Documents:
(1) One application form (format as attached).
(2) One copy of the degree certificate (must be marked "identical to the original" by the school, and sent as a PDF file).
(3) One recommendation form from the supervisor (format as attached 2, and sent as a PDF file).
(4) Three paper copies and one electronic copy of the graduation thesis.

Please indicate “2025 Outstanding Master’s and Doctoral Dissertation Award in Hakka Studies – Name” in the subject line.
