1. Taipei Medical University signed an agreement with Stanford Biodesign in 2021, introducing international medical innovation training models. As the university with the most GFIT international mentors in Taiwan, TMU promotes the STB program to cultivate medical device innovation talent.
2. Past Seed Faculty Achievements: 2 faculty members and 12 physicians have obtained Biodesign seed faculty certification, continuing to advance course projects and successfully applying for SPARK and ITRI research programs, securing R&D funding support and continuously facilitating clinical innovation implementation.
3. Course Features:
(1) Bilingual instruction in Chinese and English, taught by Stanford-certified mentors and clinical and industry experts.
(2) Real project implementation, from clinical needs to prototype development.
(3) Cross-disciplinary team guidance and generative AI assistance to accelerate needs exploration and market assessment.
(4) Resource connection to assist with government R&D program applications.
4. Recruitment Target: Medical and nursing professionals, biomedical engineers, engineers, designers, and business professionals from healthcare institutions nationwide, as well as faculty and researchers from colleges and universities.
5. Course Schedule: September 5, 2025, to January 30, 2026, every other Friday afternoon from 1-4 PM, Class A (Wan Fang Hospital), Class B (Shuang Ho Hospital).
