1.The Tobacco Hazards Prevention Act was amended and enforced on March 22, 2023. According to Article 15, e-cigarettes and similar tobacco products are completely prohibited, and new types of tobacco products that meet the definition of tobacco (including heated tobacco) are strictly regulated. All tobacco products are harmful; whether using conventional cigarettes or heated tobacco, both generate similar toxic chemicals.
2.No one may use e-cigarettes or similar products, nor designated tobacco products (including heated tobacco) that have not passed the required health risk assessment. Violators are subject to a fine of up to NT$10,000.
