1. The Ministry of Education issued Letter No. 1070211712 of December 3, 2018, and Letter No. 1070222450 of January 7, 2019 (approval), requesting that all schools develop teaching resources and course content related to emerging media literacy topics. The Ministry of Education will review the results of these efforts within its Higher Education Deepening Plan.
2. In conjunction with the Ministry of Education's "Action Plan for Promoting Media Literacy Education," Ming Chuan University, Providence University, and I-Shou University will continue to be commissioned to implement the "Higher Education Media Literacy Curriculum Development Project" through 2025. This project will offer workshops primarily for faculty members in higher education nationwide. These workshops will begin with a discussion of the fundamentals of media literacy and then extend to the process of lesson plan development, the interpretation of media phenomena, and challenges and solutions encountered in the classroom. These workshops will gradually deepen understanding of media literacy and teach students how to design relevant teaching materials. This will also serve as a foundation for promoting the development of media literacy curriculum in higher education, establishing teaching reference modules, training seed teachers, and fostering a community for teacher preparation.
