Media reports indicate that due to the recent cold weather, five university students sharing a three-bedroom apartment in northern Taiwan suffered carbon monoxide poisoning, suspectedly due to improper installation of the gas water heater and poor ventilation. They were rushed to the hospital for treatment. One male student's room had no external window, and he was found unconscious inside by his roommate. Of the other four students, two experienced brief dizziness and fainting, while the other two had milder symptoms and were unharmed. Fortunately, all five students recovered smoothly after hyperbaric oxygen therapy and are under continued monitoring.
