NSTC 2027 "Subsidy Program for Doctoral Students and Postdoctoral Fellows to Conduct Research Abroad"

Subject: NSTC is soliciting applications for grants to doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers for overseas research in 2027. Online applications will be accepted from June 1, 2026 to 12:00 noon on July 31, 2026.

Instructions:
1. Applications will be processed in accordance with NSTC's "Guidelines for Grants to Doctoral Students for Overseas Research" and "Guidelines for Grants to Postdoctoral Researchers Overseas."

2. In addition to applications submitted according to the above two guidelines, applications for the "Quantum Technology Advanced Talent Cultivation Program – Quantum Technology Elite Project" will also be accepted, and applications will be submitted entirely online (until 12:00 noon on July 31). The following are the details:

(a) Applying institutions may set their own deadlines. Applicants must complete online system registration and document submission before the deadline set by their institution. After review and approval by the applying institution, the institution will submit the application to NSTC online. The applying institution must also verify the applicant's eligibility and whether the application documents meet the requirements.

(II) All application forms must be created through the "Academic Research and Development Service Network" on the NSTC website (https://www.nstc.gov.tw/). NSTC does not accept paper applications.

(III) Information regarding the "Guidelines for Doctoral Students and Postdoctoral Fellows to Conduct Research Abroad," application forms, and application procedures can be downloaded from the NSTC Department of Science, Education Development and International Cooperation website under the sections "Guidelines for Subsidizing Doctoral Students to Conduct Research Abroad and 2027 Project Request for Quotas" and "Guidelines for Subsidizing Postdoctoral Fellows to Conduct Research Abroad and 2027 Project Request for Quotas."

(IV) This subsidy is partial. Applicants should confirm their eligibility for the rights and obligations, status, and corresponding requirements of the country or institution they wish to visit.
