[Thesis Scholarship] The Rare Disease Foundation's "28th Rare Disease Doctoral and Master's Thesis Scholarship" is open for applications from now until September 11, 2026. Graduate students are welcome to apply.

I. Eligibility

Doctoral and master's students from domestic public and private universities whose dissertations are related to the association's annual scholarship theme, and who have not yet completed their dissertations by the time the scholarship review results are announced (around the end of November).

II. Scholarship Amount

RMB 60,000 per doctoral student and RMB 40,000 per master's student. Those who pass the association's review will receive half the scholarship amount. The remaining balance will be disbursed after the dissertation passes the university's oral examination and the written and electronic versions of the dissertation are submitted to the association as required.

III. Number of Scholarships

Selection will be based on merit after expert review.

IV. Required Documents

Applicants should submit the following documents (no special binding required). The association will engage scholars and experts to review them according to its review standards:

1. Application Form

2. Personal Statement

3. Academic Transcript

4. Letter of Recommendation from Advisor

5. One copy each of previously published papers or related works (electronic file)

6. Three copies of the thesis proposal (can be entirely in English, but must include a Chinese abstract and keywords)

7. Relevant proof that the thesis proposal has passed review (such as a certificate of passing the departmental oral examination or a certificate of review approval signed by the advisor).

5. Research on Knowledge and Skills Related to Social Work for Rare Diseases

6. Research on Clinical Diagnosis and Treatment of Rare Diseases

7. Research on Long-Term Care for Rare Diseases

8. Research on the Needs of Rare Disease Patients or Families

9. Research on the Psychological Well-being of Rare Disease Patients

10. Other Research Related to Rare Diseases

VI. Other

Doctoral and Master's students who receive scholarships should complete and submit their dissertations within the maximum study period stipulated by their respective schools. All doctoral and master's theses completed with the scholarships from this association must be publicly published by the association upon completion. When publishing or distributing the paper, applicants must acknowledge receipt of the grant from the organization, sign a paper authorization form, and submit three hard copies of the paper and an electronic copy to the organization for reference by patients and related parties.
