According to recent monitoring by the Taiwan Centers for Disease Control (CDC) under the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the number of outpatient and emergency room visits for COVID-19 in Taiwan has increased for five consecutive weeks. A new wave of the epidemic may officially begin as early as this week, with the peak expected in mid-to-late August.

To protect the health and safety of students on campus, the Environmental Safety Office would like to remind everyone that while enjoying summer vacation and daily campus life, please be sure to cooperate with the following epidemic prevention measures:

💡 Prevention is better than treatment: Three key protective measures

1. Self-protection is essential: Wearing a mask is recommended in crowded or poorly ventilated public places. Maintain good personal hygiene habits such as frequent handwashing.

2. Take advantage of government-funded vaccinations: The government is currently expanding government-funded COVID-19 vaccinations to those who have been vaccinated for more than six months, and this measure will continue until July 31, 2026. If you are eligible for vaccination (especially high-risk groups or those who have not yet received this season's vaccine), please take the opportunity to get vaccinated at a contracted medical institution as soon as possible to enhance your protection.

3. Seek medical attention promptly if symptoms appear: If you experience symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, or shortness of breath, please wear a mask and seek medical attention as soon as possible. Manage your health at school, get plenty of rest, and avoid forcing yourself to attend classes or work to prevent the spread of the virus.
