“Self-paced English Learning: Technology & Innovation” is a self-directed English learning course offered by the Bilingual Education Center.

The course covers topics such as technology and daily life, digital technology, smart applications, sustainable development, and future innovation.

Except for the beginning of the semester and designated support sessions, students do not need to attend classes in a designated classroom. Simply complete the learning materials and tasks assigned by the teacher through the online learning platform. You can plan your own study time and learning progress based on your schedule.

This course is suitable for second-year students and above, especially for third- and fourth-year students who currently do not have an English course but still want to continue improving their English.

After successfully completing the semester requirements, you will receive 2 credits. In addition, these 2 credits can be used for one of the following purposes:

Apply for a waiver of the first-year “Professional English Basics (I)” or "Professional English Basics (II)"course; or
Count toward the Language Enhancement Courses and use the credits to fulfill the Foreign Language Proficiency Graduation Requirement.

Note 1: You may choose only one of the two options above: course waiver or graduation requirement exemption.

Note 2: Students who earn a total of 6 credits from Language Enhancement Courses may apply to fulfill the Foreign Language Proficiency Graduation Requirement.

Note 3: Students who enrolled before year 115 can also apply for a waiver of "English Listening and Speaking Practicum(I)" or "English Listening and Speaking Practicum(II) with these credits.
