Department of Leisure, Recreation, and Tourism Management, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, showed great performance, with its start company Re□Less winning the champion in the 2018 CHU Micro Entrepreneurship Competition.

The startup team directed by Chairman Hui-Ling Chen of the Department of Leisure, Recreation, and Tourism Management, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, won the championship in the 2018 CHU Micro-Entrepreneurship Competition, organized by the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center of Chung Hwa University of Science and Technology.

The purpose of the 2018CHU Micro Entrepreneurship Competition was for students to exchange their ideas and learn from each other. Through campus entrepreneurship team competitions, students could develop flexible creative thinking, work on innovation, and foster entrepreneurial spirit in them. It was hoped that the competition could break the stereotype of entrepreneurship in the past, invite college students to form cross-school teams, stimulate team innovation and creative thinking, jointly pursue a dream of entrepreneurship, gradually complete their own lifelong goals through mediation and entrepreneurial investment opportunities, and eventually make great contributions to our society. The competition has been held for several consecutive years, and the response from all walks of life has been enthusiastic. This year's finalists were teams from six different universities.

The champion team name their startup company named “Re□Less” based on the "4R" environmental issue: to reduce, to reuse, to recycle, and to replace, adopting the "Re" environmental protection theory as the beginning of the stamp letter. The world "Less" strengthens the 4R environmental protection theory that advocate to reduce pollution and unnecessary waste of resources, making all the stamps reuse environmentally friendly idea “Release→Relax” to achieve the concept of easy environmental protection. The award-winning restaurant features four season menus, technology-based ordering, small farmers and fruits for sale, kitchen waste recycling fertilizers, etc., giving the environmentally friendly restaurant business an appealing model.

Chairman Hui-Ling Chen of the Department of Leisure, Recreation, and Tourism Management, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, said that in recent years, the department has been actively coaching students to develop their creativity and practical skills. The distance from the industry has been achieved through off-campus internships. It has been effective in encouraging teachers to use their professions. Knowledge, integrated management, event design, finance, marketing, and other oriented knowledge can lead students to participate in various competitions and have trained students into professionals with great attitude.
