The "Leben" team, composed of five students—Yu-Jie Chen, Tsung-Yu Chen, Te-An Chen, De-Sheng Feng, and Tsen-Yi Wang—and jointly directed by Prof. Wei-Zhen Yang from the Department of International Business and Prof. Jia-Jun Lin from the Department of Visual Communication and Design, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, recently participated in the 2019 National Colleges and Universities Innovation x Entrepreneurship x Maker Conception Plan Competition held by the National Chinyi University of Science and Technology. The stood out from nearly one hundred great teams with their brilliant performance.

The 2019 National Colleges and Universities Innovation x Entrepreneurship x Maker Conception Plan Competition held by the National Chinyi University of Science and Technology. This competition is a combination of industry-academia cooperation and training resources, leading the entrepreneurial atmosphere of teachers and students and encouraging teachers and students in Taiwan to participate in national or international innovation and entrepreneurial activities. Since the competition was first held, it has gradually attracted the attention of domestic colleges and universities.

The work of the "Leben" team of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology is based on an environmentally friendly multifunctional design for daily necessities designed by Prof. Jia-Jun Lin of the Department of Visual Communication Design. They took it as the main product at the beginning of their business. In the entrepreneurial conception plan, the team presented a short-term, a med-term, and a long-term marketing strategy and financial planning for 5 years. From developing products, finding manufacturers, selling to selling products, and responding to environmental protection, they designed a complete green production and marketing process for design and commercialization. The complete business module and practical ability, coupled with excellent on-site presentation capabilities and team spirit review, won the unanimous favor of the judges and their high evaluation.

Prof. Wei-Zhen Yang, Chair of the Department of International Business at Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, said that Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology has been committed to promoting innovative and creative activities for many years, encouraging students to participate in internal, external, creative, innovative, and entrepreneurial competitions for many years as well as a mature cultivation mechanism. The three-innovation activities organized by the university have a good performance each year. In addition to stimulating students’ creativity and innovation, they can also guide students to seek imaginary entrepreneurial models and cultivate students' concepts and entrepreneurial foundations. This time, the "Leben" team, formed as a result of the collaboration between the College of Business Administration and the College of Digital Design, was also affirmed in the campus competition during the training of the Lion Cup Campus Three Innovations Competition in the university, showing their strength in the competition and eventually winning the runner-up record. Indeed, the team can be a great model for other students.
