This time the ranking of universities was based on a study 104 Corporation conducted on 290,738 full-time resumes submitted by university graduates in 2019 and 2020. It first investigated how workplace newcomers selected the top ten industries they most want to go to. Then the study sorted these ten industries according to the starting salaries of these freshmen before it found the top three industries with the highest salaries. A total of 4,446 companies from the above three industries opened a total of 22,000 (22,289) job vacancies from January 1, 2019 to April 30, 2020; in 2019 and 2020, they actively invited a total of 110,831 graduates, with 486,241 invitations issued. The study finally analyzed which universities these invited job-seekers graduated from.

Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology has been deeply involved in the industry. Its Optical and Integrated Circuit Failure Analysis Center has always performed well in the semiconductor industry. Most of the service targets of the center are semiconductor manufacturers at the Southern Taiwan Science Park. The service items are based on semiconductor process and failure analysis, and the center offers technical assistance for process improvement, component issues, and material analysis. It has had more than 10 years of experience. Thanks to the rich experience of engineers, customers often come to meet the engineers to directly discuss their problems, which allows customers to quickly obtain work improvement methods and understand failures causes. In the process of interaction, the center allows students to directly participate in the process and use this actual training to guide students. After students pass the basic training assessment, they will be arranged to receive customers and learn how to deal with customers, especially when it comes to making engineering judgments on different cases. In addition to transforming textbook knowledge into useful engineering practical experience, students can also cultivate on-the-spot adaptability and shorten the gap in learning, applying what they have learned. In addition, the center also provides a matching platform to strengthen the interaction between students and corporate engineers. Therefore, companies have already picked their ideal students and arrange employment before they graduate. In recent years, STUST has trained about 100 graduate students for the semiconductor industry, including Neo Solar Power, Epistar, New Century Optoelectronics, Guanggal Optoelectronics, Liansheng Optoelectronics, iST Technology, Silicon Precision, Yuanlong Electronics and Jiabang Technology and many other listed companies.

Deng-Maw Lu, President of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, said that Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology has always been the best partner of enterprises. In addition to semiconductor industry, STUST has also performed very well in other areas. It is hoped that after graduation students can work hard in the industry and hold on to the school motto—"Being Faithfulness and Honesty," always doing their best. The excellent results in the ranking of preferred universities in invited interviews showed the public's recognition of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology. All the teachers and students of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology will continue to move towards the goal of becoming a first-class university.
