Department of International Business of STUST won first place in the 2020 BGI Hsinchu Cup Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition.

The Department of International Business of STUST recently won first place in the 2020 BGI Hsinchu Cup Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. The "Life Clip" team, formed by five students—Tsong-Yu Chen, Yan-Ru Chen, Yu-Ting Wang, Chun-Chi Luo, and Jin-Ming Hsu—and jointly directed by Prof. Wei-Zhen Yang from the Department of international Business and Prof. Jia-Jun Lin from the Department of Visual Communication Design, stood out from many strong participating teams with their brilliant performance.

The "2020 BGI Hsinchu Cup Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was organized by the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center of Chung Hwa University and the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Program for College sponsored by Ministry of Education. In order to promote the nation’s youth entrepreneurship, students were encouraged to use entrepreneurial competitions and resources to implement Targeting products or services, foster their entrepreneurial spirit and creative thinking, learn to turn ideas into practical actions, and look forward to the implementation of innovation and entrepreneurship plans through mutual exchanges, discussions, observations, and learning among school teams.

The "Life Clip" team from STUST chose to base the main product at the beginning of the business on an environmentally friendly multifunctional rotating hanger designed under the guidance of Prof. Jia-Jun Lin from the Department of Visual Communication Design. In their business plan, short-term, medium-term, and long-term plans are respectively planned for their business idea, and the five-year marketing strategy and financial planning are fully presented. From developing products, looking for manufacturers, promoting sales to selling products, to responding to environmental protection, the team designed a complete set of design and commercialization of green production and sales processes, complete commercial modules and practical capabilities, and did a great job with their excellent on-site presentation performance and marvelous team spirit. They won the unanimous favor of the judges and received a very high evaluation.

Deng-Maw Lu, President of STUST, said that STUST is committed to promoting innovative and creative activities and encouraging students to participate in innovation and entrepreneurship competitions inside and outside the university. Over the past years, STUT has had a mature cultivation mechanism. In addition to stimulating students' creativity and innovative practical ability, the three innovation activities held on the campus of STUST can guide students to seek ideal entrepreneurial models and cultivate students' concepts and abilities based on entrepreneurship. It was great that the Department of International Business of STUST was able to show its strength in the national competition, won the first place with excellent performance, and was recognized by the jury. This is the greatest affirmation of the teaching achievements and student learning at STUST.
