STUST has been continuously encouraging teachers of various departments to lead their students to actively participate in various competitions. By honing what they have learned in various competitions, gaining experience, and broadening their horizons, the students can compete in the fiercely competitive international arenas. In the e-book competition, they demonstrated extraordinary strength, proving that STUST students have the ability to keep pace with international competitors in various major competitions of innovations and industrial application technologies.

As Chair Hui-Ling Chen of the Department of Leisure Business Management pointed out, in recent years the Department of Leisure Business Management has actively guided students in developing creativity and practical skills, encouraging teachers to use their professional knowledge to help students participate in various competitions. As a result, students can not only accumulate the competence of students in planning and design from the competition process, but also close the distance between students and the industry.

Hong-Yuan Chen, Chair of the Department of Visual Communication Design, said that following the current changes due to the pandemic, the importance as well as the demand of learning e-book editing and design have become more obvious. Prof. Yu-Ching Shiao has allowed students to learn concepts for editing and design through text and image layout design courses. With the application of software and the attempt to add text writing, STUST also invited Assistant Professor Yu-Ching Huang from the Department of Chinese Language and Literature, Sun Yat-sen University, to teach students about text thinking and conduct cross-field cooperation for the course. It is hoped that future students will continue to invest more in excellent design and present a diverse design style, so that readers can read more high-quality e-books.
