Ph. D candidate Guang-ying Li of STUST won the first prize in the Ph.D group of the 2022 Fubon Life Management Doctoral and Master Thesis Award.

Guang-ying Li, a Vietnamese Ph.D candidate of the doctoral program of business management from the College of Business and Management, STUST, participated in the event hosted by the Society for Management Science of the Republic of China, co-organized by the School of Management, Ming Chuan University, and has been the exclusive title sponsor of Fubon Life since 2015. In the "2022 Fubon Life Management Doctoral and Master Thesis Award Competition, he won the highest honor in the doctoral group—Special Excellence Award, a trophy, a certificate, and a grant of NT$100,000, together with his supervisor, Prof. Zhen-yu Li.

This competition has entered its 31st year, as one of the oldest and most influential indicative award in Taiwan. It has been highly recognized by all walks of life since its inception. This year, the theme "Knowledge-led Sustainability Cultivation" was given to encourage younger generations to invest in ESG research, hoping to actively produce research results with practical value in addition to grounded theoretical study.

There were 667 works participating in the 2022 Fubon Life Management Doctoral and Master Thesis Award, with a master's group, an in-service group, and a doctoral group. The winner of the award, Guang-ying Li, a Vietnamese Ph.D candidate of the College of Business and Management, STUST, was the only winner from a doctoral program of private university of science and technology to receive the award, and it was also the first time that a graduated from a doctoral program of private university of science and technology since the award was established. It is not easy to win an award.

The awardee, Dr. Guang-ying Li, expressed his hope that his study "Performance Feedback and Green Innovation: The Contingencies of Institutional Pressures" could enable enterprises to understand the importance of green innovation behaviors, with the hope to put forward corresponding countermeasures and suggestions for the establishment of a green institutional environment. In addition to the joy of winning the award, Guang-ying Li thanked his instructor Prof. Zhen-yu Li for his guidance and assistance over the years. His gratitude was also for STUST and the Taiwan government for their support to foreign students studying in Taiwan.

Prof. Rui-Shing Chang, Dean of the College of Business Administration, STUST, said that Guang-ying Li's winning of the award showed the great teaching and research ability of the teachers of the College of Business Administration. The ability to attract high-potential international doctoral students like Guang-ying Li to the school is also due to the school's efforts to obtain and maintain the Association for the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) for more than ten years. In the future, the College of Business Administration, STUST, will continue its effort to create a high-quality learning environment, hoping to attract more potential international students to study at the college and cultivate more outstanding graduates.
