The competitive cheerleading team of STUST recently participated in the 2022 Taichung City Mayor's Cup Cheering Team Championships and the 2022 Taichung National Cheering Team Championships, organized by the Department of Sports of Taichung City Government, Taichung City Cheering Team Association, and the ROC Cheering Dance Association on the second floor platform of Taichung Railway Station. With excellent performance, the STUST team won the championship of five competitions in the five-person all-around bonus group, the junior college pyramid group, the junior college mixed five-person group, the multi-bottom skills junior college women group, and the single-bottom skills junior college group.

A total of 50 units signed up and 95 teams participated in the competition. Excellent cheerleaders from many cities gathered in Taichung, and the content of the exciting games won continuous applause and surprises from the audience.

STUST participated in the five-person all-around bonus group in this competition. All of them are graduates this year. After the efforts of the preliminaries and finals, they finally won the championship and a bonus of $15,000 NTD and all the cheers from the audience, with their wonderful skills.

In the college pyramid group, the competitive cheerleading team of STUST also won first place. The display of pyramid skills played an important role in the competition process of the competitive cheerleading team. Fluency also represented the novel creativity and spiritual attitude of the entire team. Based on their great fundamental skills, they showed a perfect pyramid arrangement process and pictures stacked on top of it, which perfectly showed the tacit understanding and team spirit of the nine players.

The competitive cheering team of STUST also won first place in the college mixed five-person group. In this team, two new players and seniors teamed up to participate in the competition. With great skills, the players showed a stable and full-fledged competition process on the day of the competition, finally winning the championship. All the players and coaches became ecstatic.

In this competition, the first place in the multi-bottom skills college women group was won by the competitive cheering team of STUST. The five players in the multi-bottom skills contestants were all girls, who were required to have a tacit understanding of the team members and the stability in the process skills. In addition, the first place in the single bottom skills college group was also won by STUST. The single bottom group is a challenge that required great physical strength, skills, and courage on the part of the contestants. Thanks to their accumulation of hard work on weekdays, this group of players showed good results in this competition, with a stable and perfect process in the competition.

Yu-rou Chen, captain of the competitive cheering team of STUST, said that during the summer vacation, the competitive cheering team of STUST discussed with the coaches, formed teams, jointly integrated the training plan, developed the competition process, perfected the tacit understanding with the team members, and organized a summer training sessions for a couple of days. They worked hard every day, and was eventually able to get a lot of good results in the competition. All the team members thanked the school for its support, the extracurricular team of the Academic Affairs Office for its assistance, Coach Yi-ting Huang for her dedicated guidance, and many seniors for their care. The competitive cheerleading team will do a good job of inheritance and consolidation. With one heart, we are looking forward to various activities and competitions in the second half of the year.
