STUST held a handover ceremony for the new president On November 29. Distinguished Professor Neng-fu Huang of the Department of Information Engineering, School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National Tsinghua University officially took office as the sixth president of STUST. After the retirement of Acting President De-guang Chou, President Huang will lead STUST into a new stage of development and chart a new future.
Under the supervision of Chairman Hsin-hsiong Chang of STUST, the outgoing Acting President De-guang Chou handed over the seal to the new president Neng-fu Huang, symbolizing that in the future President Huang will officially lead the faculty and students of STUST to continue its development and work towards a common vision and ideal. President Huang, a well-known artificial intelligence expert, has profound attainments in the field of AI. He has successfully applied AI technology to smart agriculture, founded the Moocs platform, and has been deeply involved in education for many years. At the handover ceremony of the new president of STUST, President Lai Ching-de and Vice President Bi-khim Louise Hsiao sent special congratulatory messages. More than 300 distinguished guests from inside and outside the university were invited, including Board Directors Li-shian Chen and Zhi-shian Luo, Chairman Da-wei Chen of the Alumni Association, eminent alumni from all walks of life, and many other guests from industry, government, and academia.

President Neng-fu Huang outlined the future blueprint of STUST at the inauguration ceremony. He will take AI as the core of his future efforts, actively promote industry-university cooperation, expand international horizons, and integrate local resources into new vitality for STUST. President Huang said that riding the wave of AI, STUST will actively integrate AI technology into teaching and research, and closely work with industries to establish school-level R&D centers or industrial colleges for industry-university cooperative and practical AI talent cultivation services platform to cultivate more AI-related talents and enhance the STUST's competitiveness in the industry.
