AI cooperation joins hands! STUST partners with National Huwei Vocational High School of Agriculture and Industry for a strategic alliance to cultivate talents in the smart agriculture and business management industries

STUST and National Huwei Vocational High School of Agriculture and Industry signed a strategic alliance on March 26. The signing ceremony was hosted by STUST President Neng-fu Huang, along with senior administrators, who welcomed President Chong-yi Li of Huwei Vocational High School of Agriculture and Industry and the school's administrative team. Both institutions aimed to promote academic research, teacher-student exchanges, and other collaborations through this strategic alliance.

President Neng-fu Huang of STUST stated that the signing of this strategic alliance strengthens the university’s interaction and collaboration with National Huwei Vocational High School of Agriculture and Industry. He hopes that the two institutions would work together in academic research, teacher-student exchanges, and curriculum development to create greater opportunities for students. STUST is recognized as a leading technical institution in southern Taiwan, excelling in professional fields and corporate internships. Moving forward, both schools will actively collaborate on topics such as AI technology, smart agriculture, and specialized competitions.

President Chong-yi Li of Huwei Vocational High School of Agriculture and Industry also emphasized that STUST is a top-tier university in southern Taiwan, excelling in academics, professional fields, and industry-university cooperation. Founded in 1928, Huwei Vocational High School of Agriculture and Industry will soon celebrate its centennial. The school has also produced many Golden Hand Award winners. He expressed hope that students from its six groups and eight departments would have opportunities to further their studies at STUST and make meaningful contributions to southern Taiwan. Additionally, he hoped that students currently enrolled at Huwei Vocational High School of Agriculture and Industry would inherit and benefit from the AI technology education offered by STUST. Through this strategic alliance, both institutions are also actively promoting Yunlin’s first industry-university cooperation class. Moreover, the Bachelor of International Business Program at STUST offers a significant advantage to students from National Huwei Vocational High School of Agriculture and Industry. Students who score 550 or higher on the TOEIC exam will have half of their tuition and fees waived, while those scoring above 700 will receive a full tuition waiver. This initiative provides financial assistance to students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Last year alone, STUST allocated nearly NT$150 million in scholarships to support underprivileged students, benefits that will also extend to students from Yunlin National Huwei Vocational High School of Agriculture and Industry.

Afterward, attendees visited the "Smart Manufacturing Technology Center of the College of Engineering" and the "College of Smart Health—Production Line Equipment of the Department of Biological and Food Technology" at STUST. Through these on-site visits, participating faculty and administrators gained a deeper understanding of the university’s commitment to integrating teaching and research resources. The event also included discussions between department chairs from both institutions, further solidifying their future partnership. Su-juan Mo, Chair of the Voice of China Federation and a graduate of the first EMBA class at STUST, attended the event and presented gifts made by hearing-impaired students from the federation to all the faculty and administrators present.
