A resident in New Taipei City mistakenly believed an advertisement on social media and rented out a Shopee store online. The seller claimed that as long as they helped collect verification codes and transfer payments every month, they could receive the rent. Unexpectedly, this turned out to be the rhetoric of a fraud group. The victim provided personal information and helped transfer more than 20,000 yuan in payments, but ended up becoming an accomplice in money laundering.
