1. The 2025 Falling Walls Lab innovation competition, hosted this year by the German Institute Taipei in collaboration with the DAAD Information Center Taipei, the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC), the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom Global Innovation Hub (FNF), and TU Dresden, will hold its Taiwan preliminary round on August 28, 2025. Applications are now open and will be accepted until July 31.
2. The competition will be conducted in English. Each participant will have 3 minutes to present their research, clearly outlining the problem they aim to solve and their innovative solution. The competition focuses on science, innovation, and development. Presentations must be delivered by the applicant in person, using four presentation slides: the first slide includes the speaker's name, institution, and topic; the next two slides cover the content; and the final slide is for the Q&A session.
3. Eligibility: Applicants must be 18 years or older, and may include Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, or early-career scholars and scientists from any discipline. Degree holders must meet the following criteria: Bachelor’s degrees earned within the past 10 years, Master’s within 7 years, and PhDs within 5 years (please refer to the official website for full details).
