Subject: NSTC's 2026 "Humanities for the Future Monograph Writing Project" will accept applications from January 8, 2026 to February 11, 2026 (internal application deadline).

Notes:
1. This project aims to encourage forward-thinking and outstanding scholars to write monographs in the humanities and social sciences. The project deliverables include the publication of an outstanding monograph and a pre-publication thematic seminar. For general academic monographs, it is recommended to apply for the "Humanities and Social Sciences Academic Monograph Writing Project" according to the NSTC's guidelines for subsidized research projects.

2. Applications will be processed in accordance with the NSTC "Humanities for the Future Monograph Writing Project" call for proposals (attached) and the guidelines for subsidized research projects. Applicant institutions and project leaders must carefully review all regulations beforehand. Project leaders who have previously conducted monograph writing projects but have not yet published are not eligible to apply for this project.

3. The project will commence on August 1, 2026. Once approved, the project leader shall not undertake any other research projects funded by the National Science Council (NSTC) during the execution of this project.

IV. The content of this project proposal shall not be submitted to the NSTC simultaneously. Any overlap with other research projects must be clearly stated in the project declaration and the project proposal itself; otherwise, it will be considered a violation of academic ethics.

V. The applying institution shall thoroughly review the qualifications of the project leader and confirm the qualifications of the project leader for each application in the remarks column of the application roster. If the project leader has previously executed a book project, the publication status of that book should be confirmed. Only those who meet the requirements may submit their applications, along with a written declaration of the project leader's qualifications, after being reviewed and stamped by relevant personnel, to the NSTC.

VI. The application form is the same as the NSTC Special Research Project application form. All applications are submitted online. Please create all forms by logging into the "Academic Research and Development Service Network" on the NSTC website (http://www.nstc.gov.tw). The following points should be noted:

(I) In accordance with Point 6 of the NSTC Subsidized Special Research Project Operation Guidelines, research projects may apply for various subsidies based on actual needs. Regarding research personnel costs, the specific content, nature, projects, and scope of each type (level) of personnel within the project should be clearly stated. Furthermore, in conjunction with the National Science Council's initiative to increase funding for doctoral students participating in the project, if there is a need to hire doctoral students as part-time personnel, please include additional funding in the budget to facilitate review and approval.

(II) For research projects (application forms) involving human trials, collection of human samples, or other related experiments or experiments as stipulated in Point 11, Section 4, Item 1 of the NSTC Subsidized Special Research Project Operation Guidelines, all research content and methods must be submitted to the relevant review committee, commission, or relevant unit for review and approval.
