I. Our EMI Teaching Resource Center is collaborating with the University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin) to offer a customized EMI teacher training program. The program includes observing lectures by UT Austin faculty, workshops, lesson plan demonstrations, post-training implementation, and follow-up assessments. This course emphasizes the practical application of EMI curriculum design, using a combination of classroom observation and hands-on practice to help teachers develop EMI lesson plans, implement classroom practices, and ultimately promote teaching innovation and professional growth. Tuition is fully covered by this program.

II. Training Period: July 11th (Sat) to July 25th (Sat), 2026 (Central Time), a total of 15 days.

III. Location: University of Texas at Austin, USA.

IV. Target Audience: Full-time EMI faculty members (including project and contract faculty) from universities and colleges across Taiwan.

V. Application Period: January 19th (Mon) to April 17th (Fri), 2026. Applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis until all places are filled.

VI. Application Method and Required Documents:

(I) The "Recommending Unit" field on the application form should be filled in with the applicant's college/department. Each college/department may recommend a maximum of one EMI instructor to participate in this course.

(II) Applicant instructors must be recommended by their college/department and the bilingual education unit in charge, and must attach a formal letter of recommendation personally signed and stamped by the head of the recommending unit.

(III) The recommender in the letter of recommendation must be the same head of the recommending unit/department listed on the application form, and must have the application form signed and stamped by that head/department (limited to the college/dean or the head of the bilingual education unit in charge). For National Taiwan Normal University, the recommender must be the college/dean. (IV) Applicants must prepare the following materials and upload them to the designated online application form during the application period. Incomplete applications, applications that do not comply with the recommendation process, or applications from unqualified recommending institutions will not be accepted:

1. One letter of recommendation (stating the reasons for the recommendation, and must be signed or stamped in person).

2. One application form (including a pledge and consent form, which must be stamped by the head of the recommending institution and signed by the applicant).

3. One EMI course syllabus.

4. One self-introduction video: The video should be no longer than three minutes and must explain the applicant's motivation for applying, expectations for participation, and personal goals entirely in English. The video must be recorded by the applicant themselves. Videos generated by AI, reproduced, synthesized, or not recorded by the applicant will not be reviewed.
