I. The EJU (Examination for Japanese Language Proficiency) is a test of Japanese language and basic academic skills for students planning to study in Japan. It is administered by the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO), and the Taiwan testing center entrusts this center with the task. The test is held twice a year, in June and November.

II. Registration for the Taiwan testing center is online. Please visit the EJU website for more information: https://eju.tw.

III. The test consists of four subjects: Japanese Language and three basic subjects: Science, General Studies, and Mathematics. Students can choose their subjects based on university requirements. Test scores are widely recognized by over 900 Japanese higher education institutions as an admission requirement.

IV. To promote internationalization in universities, many prestigious Japanese universities offer courses taught in English. For details, please refer to the Study in Japan website: https://lttc.tw/z159BB. 5. The Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association uses EJU scores as the preliminary evaluation criterion for scholarships to study in Japan. Applicants for graduate school scholarships must take the June EJU exam; applicants for university scholarships must take the November EJU exam. Scholarships include tuition, living expenses, and round-trip airfare between Taiwan and Japan, and are very generous. For details, please refer to the Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association website: https://lttc.tw/q24Fhg.
