I. To assist universities and colleges in enhancing their teaching skills in ESAP and EMI courses, our EMI Teaching Resource Center will organize the following workshops, adhering to the principle of resource sharing, to improve the benefits and effectiveness of teachers in teaching EMI courses.
II. Information on the three workshops is as follows:
(I) Session 1
1. Topic: What Is ESP and Why Does It Matter?
2. Speaker: Dr. Carolyn Westbrook, Research Fellow in English Language Assessment Development, British Council.
3. Time: April 14, 2026 (Tue), 18:00-19:00.
4. Format: Online conference.
5. Registration Period: From now until April 13, 2026, or until all places are filled.
(II) Session 2
1. Topic: Getting to Know Your Learners
2. Speakers: Dr. Carolyn Westbrook, Research Fellow in English Language Assessment Development, British Council; Kamini Taneja, Assistant Director of Academic Affairs, Indian Education Department, British Council.
3. Time: May 12, 2026 (Tue), 18:00-19:00.
4. Method: Online meeting.
5. Registration period: From now until May 11, 2026, or until all places are filled.
(III) Session 3
1. Topic: Strategies teachers can use in the classroom to prepare students for the world of study and work.
2. Speakers: Dr. Carolyn Westbrook, Research Fellow for English Language Assessment Development, British Council; Kamini Taneja, Assistant Director of Academic Affairs, Indian Education Department, British Council.
3. Time: June 2, 2026 (Tue), 18:00-19:00.
