Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology (STUST) announces with profound sorrow the passing of our esteemed Chairman, Dr. Chang Hsin-Hsiung, on March 13, 2026. We extend our deepest condolences and express our utmost gratitude for his lifelong dedication and invaluable contributions to education. His passing is a significant loss to the University and the academic community at large.
Dr. Chang was a distinguished educator and visionary leader who devoted more than four decades to the advancement of STUST. During his tenure as Vice President and subsequently as President, he led the University through a period of transformative development, guiding its elevation to a university of science and technology, strengthening academic excellence, expanding graduate programs, and fostering close collaboration with industry. His leadership substantially enhanced the University’s reputation and long-term development.
A steadfast advocate of internationalization, Dr. Chang actively promoted global engagement and established meaningful partnerships with institutions worldwide, thereby broadening opportunities for both students and faculty. Following his presidency, he continued to serve with distinction as Chairman, providing steadfast leadership and strategic direction in advancing the University’s vision of becoming an “International Practice-Oriented AI University.”
Dr. Chang will be remembered for his integrity, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to education. His legacy will endure as a source of inspiration to the entire University community, as we remain committed to upholding his vision and further advancing the mission of STUST.
