Subject: NSTC is soliciting applications for the 2027 Taiwan-Germany (NSTC-DAAD) PhD program (the "Sandwich Program") for doctoral candidates. Applications will be accepted from May 15th to July 27th, 2026 (internal application deadline is July 27th).

Notes:
1. This program is conducted in accordance with the "Taiwan-Germany Sandwich Program Agreement" signed between NSTC and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

2. This program aims to provide opportunities for Taiwanese doctoral candidates to study at German universities or research institutions for a period of 6 to 18 months (including 2 months of German language courses at the Goethe-Institut). There will be two intakes per year, in spring and autumn. Application instructions are attached.

3. This recruitment notice has also been published on the NSTC website. Those interested in studying in Germany should submit their applications online according to the instructions, along with a letter from their recommending institution (or academic institution), and attach an application list. The application should be submitted to NSTC before the deadline outlined above.
