Cultural Experince Camp for international students from Japan, Korea, and the Philippines.

Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology organized the 9th Chinese Cultural Experience Camp recently for a total of 30 students from Japan, Korea, and the Philippines, who came to participate in the two-week Chinese and Taiwanese culture experience programs not only to learn Chinese but also to acquire more experience with the customs of people in Taiwan. The activities included a glove puppet, Hakka blue dye, aboriginal art and dance, cooking and pottery and many others. In the interactive learning programs, they were accompanied by volunteers to help them obtain in-depth understanding and experience with the beauty of Taiwan and the warmth of human touch in Taiwan.

The itinerary of the Taiwan and Chinese Culture Experience Camp Tainan included cultural monuments and temples for students to watch the ancient capital of the magnificent building, so that the students could be immersed in the cultural atmosphere of Tainan. The trip to Chiayi was for participants to experience the taste of goose, and they gave great reviews. In addition, the trip to Taichung led the students to Sun Moon Lake and the Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village, offering them in-depth understanding of the evolution of aboriginal life and allowing them to enjoy the unique landscapes of Taiwan's various ethnic groups of indigenous peoples. Most international students were very glad to participate in such interesting trips for Taiwan's culture. The students fully appreciated and absorbed knowledge and experience from the joy of learning they had.

Through the program in Southern Taiwan University of Science and the Chinese and Taiwan cultural experience activities, the students not only began to have interest in learning Chinese but also acquired a deeper understanding of Taiwan. After they returned to their countries, they expressed great willingness to come to Taiwan again to experience the beauty and life here when they shared with family and friends. This program surely will spread Taiwanese culture all over the world and make more people know this lovely island.
